About Me

I understand the frustrations of parenting.

My own childhood experience was wrought with neglect, which is what set me on a journey of healing my inner child to become a better parent for my children. As the first member of my family to attend college, I majored in Communication and Early Childhood Development. I became a certified Montessori Educator and taught in the classroom until the birth of my first child. I made the decision to be a stay-at-home parent until my youngest was elementary school-age.

For the next 20 years I worked as a Head Teacher, trained assistant teachers, worked with students of all ages, and had the honor of educating and supporting a multitude of children and their families. Looking to transition out of the classroom, I became a certified Parent Coach through the Jai Institute, taking the knowledge and experience I acquired in the classroom to continue my love of educating and supporting families.

I raised my own children using Parenting on Purpose coaching techniques - they are now grown and living fulfilling, successful lives. I feel so fortunate to have close, loving relationships with both of them!
